I've been wanting somewhere to put my thoughts and creativity explorations, things I want to share that aren't wholly private but still are important or tender to me, so here we are. It's unlikely anything ground-breaking or profound will make its way to this little corner of the internet but we never know what will arise once we say yes to these things.
This photo was taken during Dorset Art Weeks 2015, I'd organised 10 artists to show at our venue and we were well visited. Looking back it was really successful. Although I'd been a maker and worked craft shows all my adult life, having my own studio space and creating this exhibition was a highlight of my early official art career.
The studio itself was fair sized in old farms building alongside other creatives. Despite being cold and fairly damp in winter months it was a wonderful space to go wild in, to throw paint, cement and plaster around. I could create large scale works, with multiple tables housing 'work in process', I could use strong smelling materials and have my music playing, it was good while it lasted.
Now I create at home, more on that to come another time.
