Craft

There’s something so satisfying about the spark of an idea coming to life with a few materials and a little time. Crafting for pleasure is alchemy in its most playful sense – it’s magical, and the world needs more of that.

Making has been an integral part of my life, there was always a needle and thread, scissors and scraps of paper to hand.

Makes that still warm my heart

Loved Angel Shrine

This shrine is cast in jesmonite – a very strong and fine plaster. I created a mould using air drying clay. I made the mould for the little angel face from a childhood doll (she didn’t mind).

Tiny Flowers in Tiny Pots

These miniatures are smaller than your thumb. Each flower is cast with a copper wire that helps their heads to bob when you pop them in the pot.

Little Landscape

This little landscape is the perfect tiny shelf for tiny treasures (the tiny flower pots look very cute in them). Created from jesmonite and handprinted in acrylics with finishing touches in permanent fine liner.

Bunny Girl Journal

Calico handmade journal with sweet hand painted bunny.

Paper Crafts

We made beginner friendly kits for creating gifts and party favours - just for fun.

Custom Commission

Cute characters for a children’s clothing brand. Wood, acrylics and varnish.

Recycling Materials

Working with found and recycled materials has to be my favourite way to create. Not only does it help keep waste out of landfill, it also saves money and reduces the need to extract and manufacture new resources.

Boat Stitchery

Once upon a time we created stitchery kits for beginners. This one’s a little dated now but the simplicity and joy in it still makes me happy.

Dessert Spoon Diorama

Vintage spoons are the perfect vessel for miniature worlds. Tiny wooden houses and real twig trees nestle in a sand and resin landscape.

Boat Diorama

Wood, acrylics and fabric.

(Cuttings those seagulls on the fret saw was not for the faint hearted.)

Who or what inspires you?

The Creative Spirit

Humans have always created. It’s part of who we are: a way to make sense of our experiences, express what words cannot, and bring beauty into the world. When we give that creative impulse space to flourish, it can nourish our wellbeing, connect us to one another, and remind us of the extraordinary things we can make from the ordinary stuff of life.
